Grace through service, worship, and fellowship.
This statement is the core of our mission at Spruce Run and is the focal point of our stewardship drive for 2025. To help meet this mission, I am asking for: your participation in worship, fellowship by joining church events and the celebration of the 250th anniversary of our church and finally, service, by committing to a financial contribution.
When we worship together, we practice for our Christian lives outside the sanctuary—lives that include: gathering with those we disagree with, learning to say “sorry”, giving thanks, and seeing beyond ourselves so that we can serve our neighbors. Through sacred song and story, and rituals that remind us of God’s promises, we do those things that allow us to believe in God at all. In worship we become what we are, the body of Christ.
Fellowship drives us to connect with each other in more meaningful ways. Fellowship can happen anywhere. Outreach events like Jingle Bell Junction, Bible studies, game nights, plant-based tasting socials all build deeper relationships with each other and those around our congregation. In the upcoming year, we will celebrate the history of the church and our future. Actively engaging in our celebration shows the community around us how great of place Spruce Run is and how God brings us together.
Service has many aspects. It is giving of your time, your talents, and your possessions. To continue to fulfill our mission, we need to have the financial means to do it. In 2024, our service has supported over forty families with the fundamental need for food. Nearly fifty veterans have received a helping hand in returning to civilian life through VIBE. Time is valuable, our talents are many and we need the resources to do the things that we cannot do on our own.
Thank you for your attendance at church, attending events and your financial support in 2024. This has allowed us to make improvements to the church, make repairs, and celebrate new members.
We are on the journey to fulfill God’s purpose in our community and world. By committing to worship, fellowship, and service we will continue along this journey. I ask you to take the step now and make your commitment to giving for 2025.
