| Who we are:
We are a medium
size, semi-rural congregation in North West Central New Jersey serving
Christians in northern Hunterdon County and some of Warren County. We
welcome all who believe in Christ Jesus.
Historically, the Spruce Run Lutheran Church dates back to 1775
when the first congregation met in a nearby farmhouse.

In this cabin,
built by Frederick Fritts in 1756, the first services of the Spruce Run
Lutheran Church, Hill Road, were held in 1775. Near the roof are holes
for defending against hostile Indians.
The present church building was constructed in 1870 with the
latest addition, completed in 1991, providing expanded educational facilities and a
Nursery. There are many events and active groups for children and adults: The Women
of the ELCA, youth groups and choirs
(chancel choir and handbell choir), as well
as family, youth and adult fellowship events held throughout the year.
In the year 2000, we
completed our year-long celebration of the 225th
anniversary of the church. Visit our 225th
Anniversary Celebration Scrapbook page for celebration highlights and
events. |
