The Altar Guild is responsible for setting up and maintaining the altar for each worship service. This includes readying the vestments, paraments, linens, vessels, candles, and other furnishings. The guild ensures that the proper colors of the liturgical year are used, that the proper vessels are placed on the altar for worship, and that all necessary items are in place for baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
Altar flowers are an expression of the beauty and goodness of God. They symbolize spiritual joy and devotion. The congregation is given the opportunity to purchase flowers for the altar in honor of or in memory of a special person or event.
Altar Guild members help to beautify our worship space and prepare the setting for the Gospel. All they do in humble and adoring faith to achieve this end is a distinct service of love. We are always looking for new dedicated Altar Guild members. No previous experience is necessary, you will receive training. A new schedule is compiled every three months.
